"And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach" (Mark 3.14).
On many occasions we believe that the purpose of a Bible Study is obtain knowledge, or to enable us to confront tests in the life, or even to get ready for the ministry; however isn’t true. As the first reason by which were called the twelve, the Bible Study has the same purpose: to be with him.
So the Bible was not designed by the necessity of God, but for yours and mine. Our necessity to be in peace with Him, our necessity to have communion with Him. We will never be totally satisfied until not having an intimate relationship with God, and that is what a Bible Study provides.
It is through the Bible Study that we can have communion with him, it is through the Bible Study that we can have intimacy with him and it is through the Bible Study that we can remain in him.
The knowledge, the force, and the capacity will be a logical consequence of the Bible Study, but never the purpose for which was designed.
